The difference between anodize and electrophoresis

As we know, the aluminum profiles after surface treatment are more durable and not easy to fade. Anodize and electrophoresis are both good choices. The processing of anodize and electrophoresis are processed in the environment of electricity. Their surface look the same, while the texture is different. Now let’s see the difference between anodize and electrophresis.

Anodize aluminum:

Anodizing is accomplished by immersing the aluminum into an acid electrolyte bath and passing electric current through the medium, to form a layer of protective oxide film on the surface of the substrate.

Main features of anodized aluminum:

1. It has strong wear resistance, weather resistance and corrosion resistance.

2. It can form a variety of colors on the surface of the substrate to meet the customers’ requirements.

3. It has strong hardness and is suitable for all kinds of construction and industrial material.

Electrophoretic aluminum:

Electrophoretic is proceed after the processing of anodic oxidation. The aluminum materials as anode, are placed in the water-soluble emulsion, through the direct current, and artificially formed a coat of resin paint film protective layer on the surface of the aluminum oxide film.

The main features of high-grade electrophoresis aluminum:

1.It has a strong film hardness and strong impact resistance.

2.The film has high adhesion and is not easy to fall off and age.

3.It has stronger wear resistance, weather resistance and alkali resistance than aluminum oxide.

4.The surface color is rich, beautiful, and has a mirror-like luster effect.

Electrophoretic aluminum profiles are processed on the basis of aluminum oxide. The quality is higher than that of aluminum oxide, and the price is relatively higher.
