The surface treatments of aluminum profiles

Aluminum profiles are produces by extruding the aluminum bar through the mold to get different sections profiles. Profiles after surface treatment not only resist corrosion, but also have a fashion appearance. Today let us know better about the four common treatment ways.

1.Powder coating

Powder coating is covering a layer of material on the surface of aluminum profile to enhance the surface properties and decorative characteristic. This is a relatively sample way and the finish result is related to the quality of coating.

2.chemical treatment

The chemical treatments include chemical polishing, anodizing, phosphating, etc. This is a chemical processing to efficiently improve the surface and increase the performance of corrosion resistance and abrasion resistance.

3.Mechanical treatment

The main mechanical pre-treatment ways include sand blasting, mechanical polishing, rolling and brushing. The pre-treatment can improve the surface and lay a good foundation for the follow-up surface treatment.

4.electrochemical treatment

The electrochemical treatment of the surface of industrial aluminum profiles includes electrolytic polishing, electrochemical oxidation and electroplating. Anodic oxidation treatment is the main way and it’s an electrochemical processing that coverts the surface into a decorative, durable, corrosion resistance finish. Anodizing is accomplished by immersing the aluminum into an acid electrolyte bath and passing electric current to cover with a layer of oxide film.
